Helio Cloud Storage Overview

Helio Cloud uses two types of storage for your projects:

  1. Main Project Storage

    • Contains your working files, assets, and render outputs

    • Retained for 4 months from last activity

  2. Render Snapshot Storage

    • Temporary copies created when you submit renders

    • Automatically deleted after 7 days

Detailed Retention Policy

1. Main Project Storage (4 Month Retention)

  • What's included:

    • All files you upload manually or via Pulze Scene Manager

    • Render output files (EXRs, JPEGs, etc.)

    • Project settings and configurations

  • When files are deleted:

    • If there is no activity (no new renders/uploads) for 4 months

  • How to keep files longer:

    • Simply open, modify, or re-render the project to reset the 4-month timer

    • Download important files for local backup

2. Render Snapshot Storage (7 Day Retention)

  • What's included:

    • A frozen copy of your project files used for each render job

    • Ensures renders use consistent file versions

  • When snapshots are deleted:

    • Automatically 7 days after render completion

    • Deletion happens regardless of activity

  • Important notes:

    • Snapshots are read-only - you can't modify them, only update a new snapshot

    • If you need to rerender, submit a new job (a fresh snapshot will be created)

Troubleshooting Error Code 404: "Request Failed with Status Code 404"

What This Error Means

You may encounter a "404" error when trying to access a project or file in Helio Cloud. This typically indicates that:

  • The requested project, file, or snapshot no longer exists on our servers

  • The storage has been automatically cleaned up according to our retention policy

  • You are trying to access a render snapshot that has expired (>7 days old)

  • You are trying to access a project that has been inactive for >4 months

How to Resolve a 404 Error

  1. Check the project's last activity date: If it has been over 4 months, the project and its files have been permanently deleted.

  2. Check the render job date: If the render was completed over 7 days ago, the temporary snapshot has been removed.

  3. Restore from backup: If you need the files, use your own local.

  4. Contact support (if applicable): If you believe this is an error and the project should still be available, contact our team for investigation.

How to Avoid 404 Errors in the Future

  • Download important files promptly after rendering

  • Maintain local backups of critical projects and assets

  • Regularly access projects you wish to keep (at least once every 3 months)

  • Use the export feature to backup entire projects to your own storage
